Artist's Comments

After going trough very dark part (heavy foliage and long trees = shadows despite of clear and sunny afternoon) of forest, this sight was like a gift from heaven. Light flooded among the trees and hummock. Very beautiful. Really worth the time and walking.

D70 + cir.pol. Saturation increased and exposure corrected (I tend to underexpose most of my photos) in photoshop.
Title was inspired by Enya.

Update 9/Nov/2005. Sharpened.

On muuten komia! Värit ovat mukavan pehmeät. Kyllä se on hienoa kävellä tuon näköisessä metsässä, etenkin kun ei sada, tai ei ole hirvikärpäset ympärillä pörräämässä. :)
Kuvakulma on 'jänskä'. Muuten en oikein osaa sitä kuvata. =P

Valaistus on suoraan kuin satukirjan kuvituksesta (kohteliaisuus). En kyllä noin nätillä maalla tohtisi kävellä. Upea kuva jällehen.

It's such a simple scene, yet it looks so beautiful. A good photographer can make us notice things that we would not pay enough attention to, a good photographer turns nature into beauty. Or something like that. Lovely colors and lighting and I would say the composition is damn near perfect.

I routinely underexpose everything, too, though I'm trying to get out of the habit. My camera is usually set to -1 underexposure, so that if I have to get it out in a hurry for a quick shot it won't be ruined by a white sky or anything.
